Bio:
Ashtin is a current Artist Diploma student at University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music studying with Timothy Lees. She is a recent graduate of Florida State University with a Master’s of Music learning from Dr. Benjamin Sung. And her Bachelor of Music is from University of Missouri Kansas City studying with Joseph Genualdi. In previous summers, Ashtin has attended Brevard Summer Music Festival, Eastern Music Festival and National Orchestral Institute.

What is something interesting that people may not know about you?
I grew up playing many instruments. I finally settled on violin in my undergraduate degree. My final choice was between clarinet and violin, but I have experience playing every instrument in the woodwind family.

When taking a break from music-making, what is your favorite thing to do?
Be in nature! Long walks, hiking, or kayaking are my go to activities. Along with anything coffee related.

What are you most looking forward to this summer with the NRO?
Performing at the highest level!
