Collin Stavinoha is a student of Ransom Wilson and Tara Helen O’Connor at the Yale School of Music. His most recent awards include first prizes in the Wisconsin and Oklahoma Flute Society Young Artist Competitions and winning the University of North Texas’ Concerto Competition. In previous summers, he has attended the Eastern and Texas music festivals. Before Yale, Collin studied with Terri Sundberg at the University of North Texas.
What is something interesting that people may not know about you?
I’ve gone scuba diving in the 2nd largest coral reef in the world, off the coast of Belize!

Cooking, Gaming, or pursuing other academic interests!
What are you most looking forward to this summer with the NRO?
I hope to replace my mindset as a student with that of a professional musician. The vast amount of repertoire being performed in such a relatively small amount of time will help push my playing and musicality to new bounds!
