Oboist Jillian Kouzel currently holds the position as 3rd oboe/English horn in the Lima Symphony Orchestra in Lima, OH, and serves as an Adjunct Professor of Oboe and Woodwind Methods at Saginaw Valley State University. She is completing her Doctorate of Musical Arts degree at the University of Michigan under the guidance of Dr. Nancy Ambrose King. Other primary teachers include Andrew Parker and Rebecca Henderson. Aside from playing and teaching music, Jillian enjoys staying active and exercising through yoga and swimming laps in a pool.
What are you most looking forward to this summer with the NRO?
Making music with incredible musicians for the first time in many, many months. I am excited to finally start meeting and interacting with people in our wonderful field again and creating new memories!
What is something interesting that people may not know about you?
I have skydived four times, and plan to do more 🙂
